Food Safety

(Awareness)

Target Audience 

This course has been designed for all employees in food industries and services who require a basic understanding of food safety, in compliance with both an organisations safety policy and current food safety legislation.

 

Course Aims 

Food business operators must ensure that employees are supervised, instructed and trained in food hygiene matters in order to guarantee safe food to consumers. These qualifications have been developed to raise awareness of key food safety issues and to provide employees with an induction to food hygiene. 

 

Course Objectives 

The following learning outcomes will be achieved:

• Understand the basic requirements of food safety and hygiene 

• How to keep clean and hygienic

• How to keep work areas clean

• The role an individual plays in reducing contamination

• Identify key food safety issues

 

Course Duration 

This course is normally delivered over a ‘half day’ (3 hours). Delegates who successfully complete the course are awarded a certificate of attendance.
