This qualification will benefit those working directly with patients / clients in a health and social care environment or seeking a career in this sector.
Course Aims
It will help care workers recognise the causes of infection and help them to assess the risks that their actions have on the health of their patients/clients whether that is in residential care or in their own homes, in the private or public care sectors.
Course Objectives
Successful completion of the training programme and assessment will enable candidates to understand: the terminology used in good hygiene practice relationship of hazard and risk in prioritising action relevant legislation relating to hygiene practice concepts of hygiene hazards and infection control importance of good personal hygiene need for high standards of cleanliness to help prevent infection
Course Duration
This course is normally delivered over a ‘half day’ (3 hours). Delegates who successfully complete the course are awarded a certificate of attendance.
